Tony and I met in a strange way, which everyone would say....nothing is strange with Tony and even though I was "technically" a consultant for Zappos, I certainly ALWAYS felt part of the Zappos family.....I was given the task of promoting Zappos "off line", I sure couldn't have done it on line!!!!!!!! All my team would KNOW that...Krista, Ashley, Ned, Robert, Andy, Brian, Matt......

There are so many wonderful memories....those that stand out are getting Zappos on the Oprah show TWICE in one year (unheard of), the first was a "young successful entrepreneurs", taking Tony to New York to be on "Celebrity Apprentice", bringing Serena Williams, Gladys Knight, Venus Williams and Sam Querrey to the office, being on Nightline, the Ellen Degeneres Show and my daily wonderful days at Zappos Henderson The Oprah team came out and shot at the office in Henderson (my favorite office) and I ran, literally ran, through the building threatening everyone to clean the office up...don't ask me, it may have been fear induced, but everyone cleaned their areas...Julie Rashid was the on site producer and got TONS of great footage. Then she calls me and says, I'm sorry but we probably won't do live and we'll just show snippets of the footage......I was sooo bummed. I even thought of not going into the office the day it was going to be on, but I did. Tony, Fred and Steve were over at Claimjumpers for lunch and I get the call from Julie from Oprah's office screaming..."Get Tony READY, "you have 4 minutes , Oprah has the Olsen twins on and I can feel she is going to cut them off...we'll put Tony on"....We kicked into HIGH GEAR !!!! Jerry and Liz set up the Skype, I called Tony (and lied, told him he had to RUN, he had 2 minutes to get ready for Oprah (he had, at least 3 minutes)..I met him at the door, put some of my makeup on his face, sat him at his desk, positioned people around him, noticed his hands were shaking, told him to put his hands under the desk, Jerry said, give him a shot of vodka, he wouldn't take it....so I drank it, actually tried a second shot on him....he wouldn't drink it sooooo now I have 2 shots in me and I'm drunk ....Tony was ready, answered Oprah's questions and Julie said, "keep Tony on screen Linda because sometimes Oprah likes to talk to the guests after off air".....well, she said, thinking Tony was gone, to the audience "wasn't that Zappos guy cute?" Tony blushed and away we all went for the rest of our day.
